RAW Salvage Ltd. and the Calgary Drop-In & Rehab Centre Society,( the DI) have agreed to collaborate on a literary exercise, for, RAW Salvage, it is one of editing and publishing an on-going monthly chapbook, (that is/ will be), based from the open mic. readings, facilitated at the DI and podcast over the net at
http://calgaryspokenword.podbean.com
Both, RAW Salvage Ltd. and the DI are registered not for
profit based entities.
So welcome to the dream, a literary publication based on people’s lives and experiences .Living working, and volunteering at Canada’s largest homeless shelter. The editing within these pages will be done for space only. There will be no censoring for grammar, spelling or political correctness, the real world cannot censor, tsunamis’, earthquakes, blizzards or governments, isn’t it, best if we don’t either.
A warning that is simple; there may be words you don’t like to hear, there may be visions, you don’t want to see, closing your eyes or turning your head, does not make them go away. The aim here is to educate, not to placate, to include the marginalized and recognise that they have a voice, that, they can and want to do more than elicit pity.
What follows here to hear at calgaryspokenword is a patch work of poets recorded live from the DI. The words spoken and delivered are included in the Volume four chap book available from us for $2.00 CAD. plus shipping and handling. or available retail $3.50 CAD from Pages Books on Kensington or Shelf Life Books, see the links on the side bar.

We understand that it seems like a long time ago in a book store far, far, away. But here to hear
are the words and ideas of some very gracious ladies. Beth Langford, Juliet Burgess and
Gayleen Froese, each with their unique views, from the mundane special, through some
self-actualization to an introduction of a new gumshoe novel that touches the psychic weirdness’s
that may be Edmonton.
It was entertaining and if you missed it then, you can down load it now.
Thank You to Pages Books and Filling Station Magazine.
Please listen, share and enjoy
Peace
